ManLand

Every spring we do a mens getaway weekend for the students called ManLand. We go to this cabin about an hour north of Missoula. The weekend is filled with steak, fires, chopping wood, competitions, and paintball. It is really the highlight of the year for alot of guys. This time we talked about the importance of strong male friendships. We looked at the friendship that came about between Jonathon and David and we used some material from Stu Webber. Webber says in his book Tender Warrior, there are four characteristics of strong male friendships; Shared values, Unselfish love, Deep loyalty, and Real transparency. It was fun to talk about this with the guys there and to encourage them to initiate and foster friendships like this in their own lives.
